The Connecticut Renewable Energy LLC biomass gasification project will redevelop a Waterbury, CT brownfield site for a gasification plant capable of producing 4.1 million decatherms of renewable methane gas per year. As a Class I renewable energy source, the facility will produce the equivalent of 60 MW of electricity in the form of renewable methane. The gasifier will be fueled by land clearing brush, wood chips and other clean biomass materials harvested from around the state. These materials would otherwise be destined for the state's landfills. The renewable methane gas may be then sold to producers of "green certified" electricity. The gas may also be sold directly to the Local Distribution Company. The project will take a non-productive brownfield site and generate clean energy as well as tax revenues for the city of Waterbury

GenCell Corporation
1432 Old Waterbury Road Unit 3
Southbury, CT 06488

GenCell Corporation is a manufacturer of fuel cells and integrated fuel cell
power generators. GenCell hardware platforms offer systematic fuel cell
refinement resulting in unique cost-effective fuel cell power generators.
Proprietary manufacturing processes provide for mass production and
customization of fuel cells. The objective is cost reduction and performance
enhancement to facilitate rapid commercialization of fuel cell power
systems. GenCell products will baseload the customer's electric power needs
while optionally providing co-generated heat. This permits the customer to
reduce transmission, generation, and demand charges while still providing
back-up of critical loads on loss of the grid in the same way as traditional
diesel gensets, but without the high air emissions. GenCell technology is
amendable to MCFC, PEM, and SOFC.

The Renova sawmill biomass gasificatoin project will deploy small air blown downdraft gasifiers capable of producing low BTU gas to generate 100-300 kW of electricity at small to midsize sawmills. Sawmill waste residue comprised of wood chips and sawdust fuel the gasifier. This clean energy technology produces no waste and may be flexibly sized to meet the electrical and heating needs for the nearly 40 identified sawmills in Connecticut.

Sure Power Corporation
30 Main Street, Suite 405
Danbury, CT 06810
(203) 790-8996
(203) 743-2182 - Fax

Sure Power Corporation, headquartered in Danbury, Connecticut, is the developer of an on-site primary power plant supplying computer-grade electricity and chilling at high availability levels. The Company designs the System according to Probabilistic Risk Assessment principles to have a one percent chance of failure over the twenty-year System life. Its Direct Current Link electricity distribution system allows can use multiple generators of various types such as turbines, fuel cells and gas reciprocating engines in standard configurations in which no single component can cause failure. Unlike Alternating Current solutions, the only technology in use, the System allows all generators to supply all loads at all times without switching. The System is modular and scaleable, without disturbing operations, from 200 kilowatts to tens of megawatts. Sure Power takes the responsibility to operate and maintain the System during its life. Due to its unique architecture and DC Link electricity distribution system, Sure Power guarantees that its patented system will deliver computer grade electricity at the 99.9999 percent availability level, equivalent to a one percent chance of failure over 20 years. Sure Power backs this guaranty with insurance. The SurePower system costs less than current grid-plus-back-up solutions. Sure Power provides users with substantially increased uptime, allowing for higher revenues and eliminating unexpected losses from power disruptions.
