Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center, Storrs, CT

The Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center began in 2001 as a partnership between the School of Engineering at the University of Connecticut, The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund and Connecticut industry.

The partnership arose from the confluence of several key factors: Connecticut's existing strength in commercial development of fuel cell products; the growing importance of renewable, low-environmental impact energy sources; and the University's strong core innovative research in fuel cell and related technologies.

Partnering to establish a center of excellence in this fertile commercial area offered a viable vehicle to capitalize on synergistic opportunities for research and commercialization, with resonant significance for the State.

The center occupies a state-of-the-art 16,000 square foot. facility on the University's Storrs campus.
