Great Ideas Need Money to Grow

Got a great idea for a clean energy product or service? The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund wants to talk with you.

We're actively seeking to make early stage capital investments in projects that either build consumer demand or produce clean power. We also make venture capital investments in companies that are building clean energy products. Plus, we can offer the guidance, resources and connections you need to turn your great idea into a marketable product or service. We're especially interested in opportunities where our early investment will lead to larger commercial investments later on. We'll typically take higher risks than commercial investors, but expect higher returns.

Take the next step:

If you already have a solid business plan and are seeking start-up or additional financing for your project, download our funding application form. Submit the completed form, along with your business plan, to:

Connecticut Clean Energy Fund
999 West Street
Rocky Hill, CT 06067

We'll acknowledge receipt of your materials immediately, and contact you within 3 business days to discuss your project or to schedule an appointment.

Your idea's still in the early stages? We can help. Our Resources will direct you to information, links and other support to help you move your project forward.

Either way, feel free to give us a call at (860) 563-0015. We'll be happy to answer your questions and talk with you about how we can work together for a clean -- and prosperous -- future.

The Clean Energy Fund (CEF) was created in 1998 as part of a Connecticut state law deregulating electric utilities. We officially opened for business on Jan. 1, 2000. We expect to invest a total of $13 million in 5 to 10 projects or companies during 2000. These projects can be based anywhere in the world, as long as they benefit Connecticut ratepayers. CEF is managed by Connecticut Innovations, the State of Connecticut's leading investor in high technology. For more than a decade, Connecticut Innovations has been making risk capital investments in high-tech companies throughout the state, and posted a return on fund equity of more than 20 percent in 1999.
