Town Description:

Oxford is a town of more than 9,800 people located in western New Haven County. The 33 square mile municipality features several areas including Great Hill, Quaker Farms, Woodruff Hill and Riverside. Neighboring communities include Naugatuck, Beacon Falls, Middlebury, Monroe, Newtown, Seymour and Southbury.

Oxford used to be very rural town with a moderate farming population. However, in the past few years, there has been a large influx of upper-class suburban families that moved into the area. Among the town’s recreational highlights are Southford Falls State Park in the northern section of town, Jackson Cove Beach in the southern section, Kirks Pond in the center of town, and Oxford Greens, an upscale public golf course.
