Town Description:

Darien is a town with a population of nearly 20,000 residents located between Stamford and Norwalk in Fairfield County. It was incorporated in 1820, after receiving independence from Stamford. The town enjoys a rich history dating back to before the American Revolution.

Today Darien is a suburban community with an active town center, excellent schools, and involved residents. The town includes numerous parks, two beaches along Long Island Sound, an indoor ice skating rink and numerous golf courses. Those who have come to live here have been careful stewards of its architectural and natural heritage while enjoying the resources of a modern community.
