About the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund

The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF)

The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund, launched in 2000, invests its resources in an array of enterprises, initiatives and projects aimed at:

  • Creating a diverse and growing supply of renewable clean energy;
  • Accelerating the development of clean energy technologies; and
  • Educating consumers about the benefits and availability of clean energy.

Energy is one of the most critical issues of our time. Dwindling supplies, geopolitical events and price volatility are forcing our society to face a stark reality: continued reliance on fossil fuels threatens our environment, our economy and our way of life, and could rob our children of a promising future. The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund is determined to meet these challenges by taking a leadership role in stimulating the production and use of energy from clean and renewable sources.

Clean energy technologies are working today and with the right financial and policy support these technologies can help meet the world’s energy needs. The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund is dedicated to making the promise of clean, renewable energy a reality through a variety of activities and programs aimed at advancing the clean energy industry.

CCEF programs are available to businesses, municipalities, non-profits, other institutions and residents.

Created by the Connecticut legislature, the CCEF is funded by electric customers of Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating. CCEF is administered by Connecticut Innovations, a quasi-public authority with a proven track record of success in making investments to advance emerging technologies in a variety of industry sectors, including renewable energy.

You are invited to join us on this mission. You have the power to make a difference. Together we can change our world for the better.
