The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund is an electric rate-payer fund that:

  • Was created by the Connecticut Legislature
  • Is funded by a surcharge on electric bills
  • Is administered by Connecticut Innovations

As of October 1, 2007, the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) is governed by a statutorily designated 15 person board—the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund Board. This board develops the comprehensive plan and authorizes expenditures from the Fund for projects, programs and operating expenses.

The Fund exists within Connecticut Innovations, a quasi-public authority, for administrative purposes.

For a description of the Fund's legislative mandate, please refer to Section 16-245n of the Connecticut General Statutes. You may access the most current version of this section by clicking here.
