CT Transit Repair Facility

System Size (kW): 23.1

Savings: Producing absolutely no toxic emissions, the 210 PV modules on the roof of the bus depot will reduce a whopping 417 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, along with many tons of sulfur oxide and nitrous oxide over the course of their lifetime.

118 Acres of Trees on One Roof?

On the roof of the CT Transit Repiar Facility are 210 solar photovoltaic modules covering 3,700 square feet. The modules convert sunlight directly into electricity, generating 23.1 kilowatts (kW), enough to power over 25 homes during the day. Not only do the PV cells provide clean, renewable energy for the bus depot, but during their expected 30-year operating life, they will reduce a whopping 417 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, along with many tons of sulfur oxide and nitrous oxide. The impact of removing those pollutants is equivalent to planting 118 acres of trees.
