$128,100 Grant from Connecticut Clean Energy Fund Approved for Solar PV Installation at Planet Self

ROCKY HILL, Conn., June 27, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), a ratepayer fund administered by Connecticut Innovations Inc. (CI), today announced that the Connecticut Clean Energy Investment Committee has approved a grant of $128,100 to help defray half of the total project cost of installing a 27.72-kilowatt DC solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the Planet Self Storage facility located in Newington, Connecticut. This facility is owned by Newington Storage, LLC, of Newington, Connecticut, which will be the grant recipient. CCEF's funding will be provided through its On-Site Renewable Distributed Generation (DG) Program.

Town of Westport Takes Major Step Toward Clean Energy: 24 kW Solar PV System is Installed

WESTPORT, Conn., May 25, 2007 - The Town of Westport has completed the installation of a 24-kilowatt (kW) solar PV system on the roof of the Fire Station at 515 Post Road East. Encompassing an array of PV panels on the large flat roof, as well as a smaller array that is mounted at an angle on the parapet wall and visible from street and ground level, the PV system will convert sunlight into electricity for direct use in the Fire Station building. The system will generate roughly 7% of the annual energy needs for the building and will be interconnected with the regional utility grid of CL&P. Unique to the system design, there are no roof penetrations and the system has data acquisition and performance monitoring capability, so that the public will be able to access system performance and energy production profile via the town's website.

ROCKY HILL, Conn., May 24, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), a ratepayer fund administered by Connecticut Innovations Inc. ROCKY HILL, Conn., May 14, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), a ratepayer fund administered by Connecticut Innovations Inc. (CI), today announced that the Connecticut Clean Energy Investment Committee has approved a loan of $557,134 to help fund the demonstration of a new unique 500-kilowatt hydro electric turbine system, consisting of five micro hydro turbine units, at Kirby Mill in Mansfield, Connecticut. The developer of the technology is Windham Automated Machines, Inc. (WAM), an equipment engineering and manufacturing company located in the historic Kirby Mill within Mansfield Hollow State Park. CCEF's funding will be provided through its Operational Demonstration Program.

First Electricity Purchase Agreement under Project 100 Signed

ROCKY HILL, Conn., May 10, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), a ratepayer fund administered by Connecticut Innovations Inc. (CI), a quasi-public state authority, today announced that the first long-term electricity purchase agreement (EPA) for Class 1 renewable energy under Project 100 has been completed - a 15-year EPA for the purchase of clean energy from a facility with 15 megawatts of production capacity. The EPA was executed by The Connecticut Light and Power Company (CL&P), the purchaser of clean electricity, and GDI Renewable Power - Watertown, LLC, the renewable energy producer and seller.
