Micro-grants to Support Clean Energy Awareness
This program supports communities who are interested in increasing local awareness about clean energy options. The Community Innovations Grants Program provides eligible communities with a $5,000 block grant to this end.
A community must have committed to SmartPower 20% by 2010 clean energy campaign to qualify for the $5,000 block grant.
Some samples of potential projects include, but are not limited to:
- Middle school sign-up campaign for the CTCleanEnergyOptions Program
- Community corn maze that has been designed to educate visitors about clean renewable energy
- Elementary school calendar to raise parental awareness about the importance of clean, renewable energy
- Local cable access programming to inform residents of the benefits of clean energy.
