Notice to Eligible Installers and Home Owners -
On October 3, 2008, President Bush signed into law the “Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008,” which extended the 30 percent federal personal income tax credit on qualified solar systems, but eliminated the $2,000 incentive limit.
Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems utilize clean, renewable energy from the sun to produce electricity. Today's solar PV technology is proven and can provide a significant portion of the electricity needed to power your home or facility.
Visit our facts and figures page for information on costs and benefits or view our new series of videos, "Tips on Purchasing a PV System."
Why Go Solar?
- PV systems are reliable, pollution-free, and use a renewable source of energy.
- PV systems help preserve the Earth's finite fossil fuel resources and reduce air pollution.
- PV systems allow owners to add an energy-producing improvement to their property and over time to recover the cost of the system through reduced electric bills.
- PV systems make owners less vulnerable to future increases in the price of electricity.
Total number of approved applications as of 12/31/08 is 874 which equals 4,003 kWAC
