Operational Demonstration Program
The Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority’s (CEFIA) Operational Demonstration (Op Demo) Program provides financing to help technology innovators and entrepreneurs advance development and commercialization of emerging clean energy technologies. The goal is to support growth of Connecticut’s clean energy industry, resulting in job creation, reduction in clean energy costs, environmental benefits and enhanced energy security.
The program funds installation and testing of near-commercial technologies at representative customer host sites in Connecticut.
The Op Demo Program is one of CEFIA’s Technology Innovation Programs. For an overview of these programs, see www.ctcleanenergy.com/newtech.
The Op Demo Program offers unsecured loans of up to $500,000 with favorable repayment terms and requires a one-third funding match. Funding in the amount of $1.5 million is available in this round to support qualified applicants via a competitive evaluation and selection process. See the Program Announcements section below for important program dates.
If you have developed a new technology (or an innovative application of an existing technology), please complete the Technology Innovation Programs Pre-Qualification Survey to receive feedback on which program you may be eligible for. Eligible technologies and other minimum eligibility requirements are summarized on the Technology Innovation Programs Web page, www.ctcleanenergy.com/newtech, from which you can download the Pre-Qualification Survey. Please note that applicants must first submit a Pre-Qualification Survey before applying to the programs.
