The 10kW turbine was installed and the local utility has approved interconnection with the electricity grid. With the completion of system commissioning and the installation of net metering equipment, performance testing of this turbine will commence.
Lyman Memorial High School was selected as a host site for the SWTDP in March 2009; it was one of four sites selected from over 30 applicants. Staff from The Cadmus Group performed on-site visits in April 2009 to document site conditions and meet with school staff. On June 10, 2009, Cadmus held a second meeting at Lyman Memorial High School to coordinate workflow with town of Lebanon staff and to mark out foundations and plan the installation timeline. On June 15, 2009, Cadmus spoke at the Lebanon Planning and Zoning meeting and successfully obtained a height waiver for the project. Stamped structural drawings were completed in July and the building permit was acquired in August. Originally, Cadmus and Alteris staff planned for electrical interconnection at the high school, However, an issue with the main breaker for the high school prevented backfeeding from the proposed wind project. Project staff and school personnel determined that interconnecting to the middle school would be a natural alternative, and exact turbine location was only minimally altered. Turbine equipment was ordered during the summer of 2009. Excavation and foundation preparation began in September. On November 23, 2009, Cadmus staff installed monitoring equipment, and the tower was raised on November 24th. After almost one year of data monitoring at the site, the tower was installed in September 2010.
