Caring for Animals and the Environment
In early 2008, Beckett & Associates Veterinary Services, LLC, installed 56 solar panels to the backside of the veterinary clinic. The solar photovoltaic system was designed to produce a majority of the electricity that runs the clinic on a daily basis. The panels were provided by groSolar, one of the nations leading distributors of solar energy systems, and installed by contractor Ray Zelek.
Dr. Beckett noted that although this is a small step, it is a very important one as the clinic moves towards more environmentally friendly technology. While the panels help make the clinic more eco-friendly, they are also expected to save the clinic approximately $5,000 to $6,000 each year on its electric bills.
