Adding Green Building Features
Horst Engineering, a contract manufacturer of precision machined components and assemblies for aerospace, medical, and other high technology industries, recently completed a multi-year renovation and expansion incorporating many green building features including a rooftop solar array. The clean energy produced by the company’s 39.04-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system is expected to account for nearly half of the annual electricity required to run the plant.
Horst’s chief executive officer said that the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability proves that Horst measures growth in many different ways. He believes that it is critical for the company share its experience with its peers and the community.
