Labeled a Leader in Sustainability
Daymon Worldwide, the world’s leading private label broker and consumer events expert, is also a leader when it comes to sustainability. The company has implemented a far-reaching sustainability initiative, which has been strengthened recently with the installation of a 350.35-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system at its world headquarters building in Stamford. The 2,002 solar panels, which became operational in December 2008, are expected to supply this facility with about 20 percent of the power that it uses annually and save the company approximately $60,000 per year.
Through the Daymon Worldwide Sustainability Initiative, the company encourages its associates to conserve energy and reduce waste at home and at work; become the industry experts in sustainable product development and marketing; and foster a company-wide culture of diversity, philanthropy and respect. To achieve its greening goals, Daymon has taken a number of proactive steps. For instance, the company’s weekly newsletter includes articles and tips on simple things its employees and others can do to reduce their impact on the environment; employees are encouraged to measure their carbon footprint and track changes as they implement changes in their lifestyles; heat and air conditioning units are set on timers to prevent them from being left on overnight; and light bulbs are energy efficient. These are just a few of the steps the company has taken to become more eco-friendly.
