Essex Earns Designation as Connecticut Clean Energy Community

September 26, 2007 - Essex has joined a growing list of municipalities in the state that have become "Connecticut Clean Energy Communities." Connecticut cities and towns can earn this designation under the Connecticut Clean Energy Communities Program (CCEC), a partnership between the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) and SmartPower, by meeting three requirements: (1) committing to purchasing 20% clean energy by the year 2010, (2) having a threshold number of residents and small businesses sign up for the CTCleanEnergyOptionssm program, offer to customers of United Illuminating and CL&P, and (3) making a municipal clean energy purchase.

Connecticut Clean Energy Fund Provides $176,000 to Support UConn/UTC Power Applied Research Project

September 20, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), a ratepayer fund administered by Connecticut Innovations Inc. New Haven Synagogue Hosts Dedication of Solar Array

September 18, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), Congregation Beth El-Keser Israel and Sunlight Solar Energy Inc. today hosted a dedication ceremony for a 10.5-kilowatt DC solar photovoltaic (PV) system that has been installed on the roof of the synagogue Congregation Beth El-Keser Israel (BEKI) in New Haven, Conn. The installation was made possible, in part, by a rebate of $48,768 from CCEF through its Solar PV Rebate Program, which is available to Connecticut residents, nonprofits and governmental organizations. The balance of funding for the project was provided by over 150 individual donors.

New Hydrogen Production Technology Demonstrated Successfully at Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center

ROCKY HILL, Conn., September 6, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), FuelCell Energy (FCE), and the University of Connecticut today hosted a luncheon at the Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center (CGFCC) to celebrate the successful demonstration of an innovative, distributed generation hydrogen production technology that holds great promise for both transportation and industrial applications. The Electrochemical Hydrogen Separator (EHS) technology, developed by FCE and demonstrated on a subscale level at the CGFCC, could potentially make the cost of hydrogen competitive with that of gasoline.

Septermber 5, 2007 - WHAT: A team including the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), FuelCell Energy (FCE), the University of Connecticut (UConn) School of Engineering and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) joined forces to complete a successful demonstration of an innovative, distributed hydrogen production technology that holds great promise for both transportation and industrial applications. The technology, called an Electrochemical Hydrogen Separator (EHS), was developed by FCE and demonstrated on a subscale level at the Connecticut Global Fuel Cell Center (CGFCC) at UConn, with financial assistance from both the CCEF and DoD.

ROCKY HILL, Conn., July 24, 2007 - The Connecticut Clean Energy Fund (CCEF), Yale University and Sunlight Solar Energy Inc. today hosted a dedication ceremony to celebrate the unveiling of a 40.29-kilowatt DC commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) system that has been installed on the Fisher Hall dormitory at Yale Divinity School in New Haven, Conn. The installation was made possible, in part, by a grant of $187,298 from CCEF through its On-Site Renewable Distributed Generation Program. The grant to Yale University covered approximately half of the total project cost.

(CI), today announced that the Connecticut Clean Energy Investment Committee has approved a grant of $128,100 to help defray half of the total project cost of installing a 27.72-kilowatt DC solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the Planet Self Storage facility located in Newington, Connecticut. This facility is owned by Newington Storage, LLC, of Newington, Connecticut, which will be the grant recipient.
